Depression in children is not rare; it is estimated to affect 2.8% of those younger than 13 years while such prevalence increases to 5.6% of those aged between 13 years and 18 years. Major depression disorder (MDD) in children and adolescents usually has its negative percussions on its sufferers physically, emotionally, and socially. It results from interplay between biological susceptibility and risky psychosocial and environmental stressors.
