Ewing's sarcoma is a malignant tumour that develops in the bones or soft tissue around the bones, such as cartilage or nerves. It mainly affects people between the ages of 10 and 20, and it is highly curable. Ewing's sarcoma affects roughly 200 children and young people in the United States each year, with men being somewhat more affected. Adults can develop Ewing's sarcoma, but it is uncommon. It primarily affects white individuals, with African Americans and Asian Americans being the exceptions. The type of Ewing's sarcoma you have can be determined by the location of the tumour. The pelvis is the most common place where it begins, followed by the femur (or thigh bone).
